On Friday 16th November Dorrington House Dereham hosted a
Dancing for Dignity 50’s themed coffee morning!
It was a great opportunity for current manager Kim to say farewell to residents and their families before she returns back home to Australia, and next in line manager Rob to introduce himself.
We kicked off the event with teas, coffees and homemade 50’s themed cupcakes, with a CD of 50’s hits playing in the background.
Staff dressed up in 50’s style clothing for the theme of the event, and after the teas and coffees were finished members of our staff danced with residents to the sound of the 50’s greatest memorable hits!
(Francesca) our healthcare assistant
kindly made these cupcakes…
…and they were enjoyed by all!………
Next was the raffle, families present purchased tickets for a chance to win many of the prizes, the residents and relatives who were lucky winners selected their own prizes until there were none left!
Manager Kim gave a speech and thanked all relatives and staff for attending the event, she further included she had really enjoyed her time at Dorrington House Dereham for the post of registered manager.
The event concluded with some more dancing, Rob and Kim speaking to families and residents, and everyone enjoying the coffee morning in the main dining room.
